Attempted Armed Robbery at Family Video on Old Salisbury Road

At approximately 11:58pm last night, patrol officers with the WSPD were dispatched to the Old Salisbury Road Family Video location for a reported armed robbery attempt.

According to witnesses the suspect, carrying a handgun, unlocked the outer lobby door before attempting to open the locked inner door to the business. When he was unable to open the locked inner door, the suspect fled on foot towards Pope Road.

The suspect was described as a male of unknown race. He is approximately five-feet, ten-inches tall, and was wearing a gray hoodie with a ballcap, sunglasses, and a red mask covering his face.

The case has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
