The Village of Clemmons partnered with Waste Management to host an E-Recycle event on Saturday, January 9th. The event was the largest and most successful to date for Waste Management for the entire Triad area.
The total was 51,589 lbs. (25.79 tons) of electronics collected including:
- 111 lbs. of batteries
- 3,388 lbs. of computer CPUs
- 3,585 lbs. of computer monitors
- 13,990 lbs. of misc. electronics (radios/cords/cables/gaming/etc)
- 30,515 lbs. of televisions
The event allowed residents a safe and convenient way to recycle unwanted electronics and appliances. With 454 families participating by dropping off televisions, computers, microwaves, cell phones, stereos, vacuum cleaners, ovens, etc., a tractor trailer was completely filled by 10:00 am. By the end of the event, the items collected filled two tractor trailers as well as three large Waste Management roll off containers.
