On Monday at 11:51am, patrol officers with the WSPD were dispatched to the Liberty Street location of Truliant Federal Credit Union on a reported robbery. According to witnesses a man, later identified as 58 year-old George Tyson Thompson Jr. entered the bank and threatened employees with a knife while demanding money. The suspect then left the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

A WSPD patrol Lieutenant was responding to the bank when he observed the suspect in the 100 block of E. 9th Street. The suspect was then apprehended without incident.

Authorities have charged Thompson. with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. He is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $100,000.00 secured bond and a court date of July 02, 2015 has been set in this matter.
