The following was provided by the Winston-Salem Police Department and is public record.

On March 10, 2017, Winston-Salem Police Department officers responded to a report that someone had been shot at 703 Bethabara Pointe Circle. Upon arrival officers located Mr. Jahiml Almin in the parking lot in front of 703 Bethabara Pointe Circle. Mr. Almin was unresponsive and lying on the ground.

Mr. Almin sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel with Emergency Medical Services responded and pronounced Mr. Almin deceased at the scene. He was 25 years old.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded and assumed investigative responsibility for this incident.

Authorities continued their investigation into the murder of Jahiml Ismailibn Almin. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on March 20th, authorities charged twenty-seven year old William Anthony Brown with Murder in connection to that investigation. Brown, of Sheldon Road in Greensboro, is also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling.

William Anthony Brown was taken into custody that same day by the U.S. Marshals Service in Guilford County without incident and is currently being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond allowed. A court date of 4/6/2017 has been set in these matters.
