The following information was provided by the Winston-Salem Police Department and the Kernersville Police Department
Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested
The Kernersville Police announced that on October 9th, James David Byrd was arrested on 4 Counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 1 Count of Assault on Government Official, and 1 Count of Resisting Arrest. Byrd was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $152,500 Bond.
On that same day, Chelsea Martin Byrd was arrested on 1 Count of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Chelsea Byrd was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $20,000 Bond.

Unoccupied Tractor Trailer Rolls onto Hwy 421 Causing Accident with Injuries
On October 19, 2016 at 7:34 p.m., officers with the WSPD responded to U.S. 421 North at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on the report of a vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that an unoccupied tractor trailer left its parked position in the 1300 block of East First Street, crossed Martin Luther King Jr Drive and continued down the embankment toward U.S. 421 North. The tractor trailer then entered the highway and struck another tractor trailer, driven by Douglas Drew Propst of Maiden, that was traveling in the right lane of the highway. Propst was transported to Baptist Hospital where he is currently being treated for minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation by the Winston-Salem Police Department.
U.S. 421 North at Martin Luther King Jr Drive was closed for approximately three and one half hours.

Road Closures in Ardmore on Saturday Morning
The Winston-Salem Police Department is making notification to the public that there will be several street closures in the Central Ardmore Community this Saturday morning, October 22, 2016. The reason for roadway closures is due to multiple community sponsored events that are officially permitted to use this geographic venue between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
The Geographic area in the Ardmore Community that will be most affected will be the general residential area between Miller Street and Knollwood Street.
Motorists and area residents that would normally use the following main thoroughfares for their travel needs should seek alternative routes during this time frame.
1. Miller Street between Hawthorne Road and Silas Creek Parkway-FULL CLOSURE.
2. Hawthorne Road between Miller Street and Knollwood Streets-FULL CLOSURE.
3. The residential streets located between Knollwood Street and Miller Street-PERIODIC CLOSURES.
Officers will be posted at the road closures but motorists that choose to still travel in these listed areas should expect significant delays in their travel times and plan accordingly.
