The following information is provided by the Winston-Salem Police Department and is public record

Just after 3pm on March 20th, Officers with the WSPD responded to the 3000 block of Sides Road on a report of a House-Breaking. Upon arrival, officers confirmed a breaking did occur and unknown suspects had entered the residence.

The officers also discovered a deceased Rottweiler dog belonging to the home’s resident had been shot several times. It is believed that during the commission of this crime, the suspect(s) shot and killed the dog. The scene was processed by our Forensic Services Unit.

Animal Control was notified and responded to the scene. The WSPD’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and will handle the follow-up investigation.
