Forsyth County Sheriff’s Arrest Buncombe Bank Robbery Suspect

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect, 37 year-old Jonathan Mark Carlyle of Lewisville, in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on November 8, 2013 in Buncombe County, NC at the Asheville Savings Bank. The FCSO Investigative Services Division has been working with Asheville Police Department Detectives in attempting to locate Carlyle in recent days.

On December 18, 2013 Carlyle came to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office with his wife on a matter unrelated to the bank robbery. During the course of their interaction with Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office officials, Carlyle was taken into custody without incident based on the Warrant for Arrest for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Asheville Police Department Detectives came to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office whereby they assumed custody of Mr. Carlyle and have now transported him back to Buncombe County, NC.
