The Fire Marshal’s Office is providing further information as it relates to the fire that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 701 Campbell Gardens Road.
The Fire Marshal’s Office and the Kernersville Police Department are investigating a fire that began in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 701 Campbell Gardens Road. They are investigating this as an intentionally set fire.
The Kernersville Fire Rescue Department was dispatched around 4:00am in the morning assisted by the Forsyth County Fire Department and Colfax Fire Department. Once on scene initial responding units found the townhome heavily involved with fire. A second alarm assignment was begun and included Piney Grove Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Talley’s Crossing Fire Department and Beeson Crossroads Fire & Rescue. Units from each department responded. The fire investigation began immediately and continued upon extinguishment of the fire. Units from the Kernersville Fire Rescue Department cleared the scene by noon the next day.
Previous incidents involving fire in this neighborhood have included the following incidents:
February 10, 2013- the Kernersville Fire Rescue Department responded to the dead-end of Bowen Lake Drive in reference to a brush fire. The origin of this fire was undetermined and no suspects were identified.
May 10, 2013, both the Kernersville Fire and Police Departments responded to 702 and 704 Campbell Gardens Road in reference to an unknown suspect(s) igniting decorative wreaths hanging on each respective front door. Damage in these incidents was minimal yet both were investigated by the respective agencies without identifying suspect(s).
August 27, 2013, the department responded to 701 Campbell Gardens Road in reference to the house fire. This investigation of this fire continues.
