According to Fox 8 on Monday Federal Marshals arrested a teenage fugitive in Winston-Salem. 19 year-old Brandon Rashad Jones was arrested at approximately 10am. Jones was wanted on four counts of attempted first-degree premeditated murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fox 8 reported that Officials said a task force was setting up surveillance on the 800 block of Martin Luther King Dr.today when Jones “walked out of the building into the parking lot where he was positively identified.”
“Investigators moved in to execute the arrest and, after a brief foot pursuit ,Jones was taken into custody,” officials said in a news release.
Jones is wanted in a Christmas Eve shooting that left two people injured. The incident began as a fight over a girl. According to Florida Today on December 26 Titusville police obtained a warrant for Jones arrest.
The intended victim (a 19-year-old) was airlifted by a medical helicopter to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne while the other shooting victim, a 15-year-old, was taken to a nearby hospital by a personal vehicle, according to Titusville police.
Two women also outside when the shooting happened were hit by bullet fragments but were not treated hospitalized, police report.
