The Winston-Salem Police department is actively looking for two missing persons. One a man who is reported to have a “mental disorder” that causes him to have mood swings, depression, and anger episodes has been reported missing by his friends and family. 32 year old Robert Douglas Owens was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans, white and green shirt with “SABB” printed on the front, and black boots. Mr. Owens is 5’7, 170 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He left home on foot carrying a book bag. The other is a 24 year old female named Laura Linnette Lahnala whose disappearance has prompted a Silver Alert.

Mr. Uttley, a friend of Mr. Owens, called the WSPD on Wednesday to report his concerns for the whereabouts of Mr. Owens. Mr. Uttley, who also resides at 3416 Plaza Ridge Court, stated he last heard from Mr. Owens on 02-19-13, at 2300 hours. Mr. Owens informed Mr. Uttley he was heading to Virginia to visit his mother, Ms. Caylor.
Contact was made with Ms. Caylor who advised she was not his mother, but a family friend. Ms. Caylor stated she has not heard from Mr. Owen in 3 days.
Mr. Owens suffers from a mental disorder that causes him to have mood swings, depression, and anger episodes. According to Mr. Uttley, Mr. Owens has not taken his medication in approximately one week.
The local hospitals, homeless shelters, and local jail were contacted with negative results in locating Mr. Owens. Mr. Owens was listed in NCIC as a missing person/endangered. A Silver Alert was not initiated due to Mr. Uttley refusing to sign the release form.

Laura Linnette Lahnala was last seen wearing a blue shirt, grey jacket with white fleece lining, dark blue jeans and black boots. She is 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 95 pounds. According to reports she has the mental capacity of a second or third grader and requires medication. A Silver Alert has been issued in her case.
